Converting waste into renewable energy requires more than just technology. It demands engineering capable of integrating processes, meeting regulatory requirements, and ensuring operational efficiency at every stage of the project.

With this objective in mind, MSE Engenharia developed the technical documentation for the licensing of Veolia's Biomethane Plant in Içara/SC.

This initiative is part of a project focused on producing biomethane from biogas energy recovery, directly contributing to more sustainable industrial solutions aligned with the demands of the energy transition.

Engineering plays a strategic role in transforming waste into clean and efficient energy.

Infrastructure prepared for renewable energy production

The plant was designed to operate with a nominal biogas flow rate of 1,100 m³/h and a biomethane production of 480 Nm³/h, significantly increasing the methane concentration in the process.

This operational gain allows for increased energy efficiency of the plant and maximizes the use of biogas as a renewable fuel.

In addition to system performance, the project considers fundamental factors such as:

  • Operational safety
  • Technical process control
  • Infrastructure reliability
  • Compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Integration between industrial systems

This proposal reinforces the advancement of industrial solutions aimed at the circular economy and the reduction of environmental impacts.

Biomethane projects combine industrial engineering, energy efficiency, and sustainability.

Technical engineering for ANP licensing

MSE Engineering's work included developing the necessary studies and technical documents for the approval process with the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP).

The work involved:

  • Basic Design Development
  • Technical survey of the facilities
  • Organization of regulatory documentation
  • Alignment of technical information
  • Definition of plant operational parameters

The entire documentation structure was developed to ensure information traceability, technical accuracy, and adherence to the criteria required for the project's licensing.

Regulatory compliance is a fundamental step to enable projects related to the energy sector.

Laser Scanner and digital engineering in project development

To ensure greater accuracy in surveying existing conditions, the project utilized Laser Scanner technology, allowing for the three-dimensional scanning of the facilities.

From the generation of the point cloud, it was possible to create a reliable technical basis for analyses, alignments, and the development of engineering solutions.

The use of digital engineering provides significant benefits, such as:

  • Greater technical accuracy
  • Reduced interferences
  • Better intervention planning
  • Time and cost optimization
  • Increased data reliability

This approach contributes to greater efficiency in decision-making and project development.

The digitalization of engineering enhances control and efficiency in complex industrial projects.

Engineering connected to the future of energy

MSE Engenharia's involvement in Veolia's Biomethane Plant reinforces its expertise in projects focused on sustainable industrial infrastructure and highly complex energy solutions.

More than just developing technical documentation, this work contributes to the implementation of initiatives aligned with renewable energy generation, operational efficiency, and industrial innovation.

The future of industry relies on cleaner, smarter, and more sustainable energy solutions.
