MSE Engenharia was responsible for the site survey using 3D laser scanning technology at CMAA's plant in Canápolis, MG.

Recognized as one of the leading sugar-energy companies in Minas Gerais, CMAA operates in the production of sugar, ethanol, and bioenergy from sugarcane, managing a large-scale industrial infrastructure with high operational complexity.

Digital survey technologies enhance precision, reliability, and efficiency in complex industrial environments.

Large-scale 3D Survey

The work carried out by MSE Engenharia included a complete survey of the plant, covering approximately 500,000 m² (50 hectares) of industrial area.

Through the 3D scanning performed with a Laser Scanner, it was possible to accurately record the existing conditions of the plant's infrastructure, ensuring high geometric precision and reliability of the collected information.

The scope included:

  • Laser Scanning
  • Point Cloud Generation
  • Survey As-Built
  • 3D Modeling

The solutions were developed to create a precise technical basis for future analyses, adaptations, and expansions of the industrial unit.

The accuracy of existing information is essential for reducing risks and increasing efficiency in industrial projects.

Laser Scanner Technology applied to industry

Laser scanning is an advanced technology that uses laser beams to capture industrial environments with millimeter precision, generating a highly detailed three-dimensional point cloud.

This technology enables:

  • Accurate recording of existing infrastructure
  • Greater precision in technical analyses
  • Interdisciplinary compatibility
  • Reduction of rework
  • Improved planning for future interventions

Furthermore, digital surveying contributes to enhanced operational safety and optimization of engineering processes.

Digital engineering transforms complex industrial environments into precise models for strategic decision-making.

Point Cloud and 3D Modeling

Following the field survey, MSE Engenharia generated and processed the point cloud, consolidating a detailed digital representation of the plant.

Based on the data obtained, a three-dimensional model of the existing infrastructure was developed, facilitating:

  • Technical visualization of the plant
  • System compatibility
  • Planning of future interventions
  • Information updates As-Built
  • Support for expansion and modernization projects

This approach allows for greater technical control and efficiency in the unit's future engineering stages.

Accurate digital models increase predictability, control, and operational efficiency.

Digital Engineering for the Sugar-Energy Sector

MSE Engenharia's involvement in the project reinforces its expertise in digital engineering solutions applied to the sugar-energy industry, utilizing advanced technologies for surveying, modeling, and integrating industrial infrastructure.

The project represents another instance of the company's involvement in initiatives focused on modernization, innovation, and technical reliability in large-scale industrial plants.

Developing digital solutions prepares the industry for smarter, safer, and more efficient operations.
