Augmented reality is a technology that has been increasingly used in civil construction, as it offers a new way of visualizing construction projects, allowing users to see how to expect the work even before its completion. During the visit to the new Eternit plant in Caucaia CE, held on 20/04/2023, it was possible to experience this technology up close.
Augmented Reality transforms construction into an immersive experience, allowing you to see the future before you even start building.
Augmented reality in civil construction allows virtual elements, such as 3D models, to be superimposed on the real world, using devices such as smartphones, tablets or special glasses. In this way, it is possible to view what the final project of the work will be like in real time, even before its completion. This technology has been used in various stages of the construction process, from the design of the project to the maintenance and execution phase of existing structures.

During a visit to the new Eternit factory, it was possible to experience augmented reality in civil construction in action. With the aid of a tablet, it was possible to view the factory already under construction, with the superimposition of 3D models that show what the final structure of the work would be like. This technology allows a better understanding of the project by those involved, facilitating communication between the different professionals involved in the work.
In addition, augmented reality in civil construction allows problems to be identified even before construction is completed, allowing configurations to be made even during the design phase, which can save time and money.

During the visit, the CEO of Eternit was present, Luis Augusto Barcelos Barbosa, the Director of MSE Engineering, Wesley Brito, Janderson Cunico , Sandro Rogério Pires Fernandes, CarlosVentura Ventura , Rodolfo Boaretto, Talles Eduardo Almeida de Assis and José Ricardo Reichert . These presences demonstrate the importance of the event and the collaboration between the companies involved.
