MSE Engenharia carried out the electromechanical installations of Suzano's Cerrado Project in Ribas do Rio Pardo, Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil, working on the effluent treatment plant, utilities and associated systems.
The scope covered electromechanical assembly, piping, steel structures, electrical installations, instrumentation, automation and fire protection systems, as well as testing, commissioning and technical documentation.
Key services included fabrication and installation of spools and supports, installation and tie-in of equipment, pipe racks, access structures, tanks, pumps and process systems.
On the electrical side, the work included e-houses, MCCs, panels, electrical infrastructure, cabling, lighting, grounding, lightning protection and fiber optics. The scope also covered instruments, control valves, hydrant and sprinkler networks, and the testing and commissioning of all systems.
MSE also delivered as-built drawings, welding control, technical documentation, data books and support for pre-operation and system handover.

Challenge: delivering the electromechanical installations of the effluent treatment plant of a world-scale pulp mill in Ribas do Rio Pardo, far from major cities, on a site that reached more than 10,000 workers at its peak.
Solution: MSE set up a branch close to the mill to prefabricate spools, piping and pipe racks, which also served as a training base, office and logistics center, and built an 80-apartment residential complex to house the team.
Result: the effluent treatment plant was assembled, tested and commissioned through to system start-up, and the mill began operating in July 2024.

With an investment of R$ 22.2 billion, the largest in Suzano's 100-year history, the Cerrado Project in Ribas do Rio Pardo is the world's largest single-line pulp mill, with capacity for 2.55 million tonnes per year. Operations began in July 2024, and the site reached more than 10,000 workers at its peak.
To support the project, MSE set up a branch in Ribas do Rio Pardo, strategically located near the mill. There our team fabricated Suzano's spools, piping and pipe racks. The branch also served as a training base, office and logistics center for the whole team.
At the effluent treatment plant, prefabrication was followed by electromechanical assembly, piping, steel structures, electrical, instrumentation and automation, with testing and commissioning through to system start-up.
To house the employees who worked on the Suzano project in Ribas do Rio Pardo, MSE Engenharia designed and built a residential complex with 80 apartments with balconies, a gatehouse and full leisure facilities, exclusively for the team.
The goal was to ensure everyone's well-being, with an environment that encouraged social life, health, sports and a strong sense of community.
